As a third-generation butcher based in Enniskillen, O’Doherty’s has a wealth of expertise in producing award-winning black bacon products with a dedication to quality at their core.
Their challenge was reflecting this quality proposition in their brand at all touchpoints. To do this, they needed to reposition their message to existing and new customers, both at home and in export markets. O’Doherty’s needed a partnership that would help them tell their story more effectively to support their strategic objectives.
Knowing it was vital that we understood O’Doherty’s customers and how their offering stands apart in both home and export markets to best reframe their proposition, we took to Enniskillen and the Island they own on which the pigs are reared. We visited their new state-of-the-art production facility, and the shop they originally opened in 1957, still showcasing their products to this day.
Together we created a brand based on their heritage, passion, and dedication to quality, with an identity that reflected where O’Doherty’s came from but also their future focus on innovation, to remain fresh and relevant to today’s consumers.
After rolling the new brand look and experience out across all channels including website, packaging, and point of sale, supporting their customer experience, and repositioning them both home and away, O’Doherty’s moved on to the next innovation.
In 2021 we worked with them to develop an online subscription service to meet the growing demand for Black Bacon across Ireland and the UK.
